One of Cogent’s major roles is to research and provide Labour Market Intelligence for our sector. We undertake our own original research as well as examining existing publicly-available information to build a strong picture of the sector’s needs and the learning provision available to meet them. We provide details on workforce statistics, for example

Gender balance
Balance between full-time and part-time working
Investment in staff training

Union representatives may find this information useful when strengthening their own understanding of the sector in which they work, as well as being able to provide information to colleagues.
