Event Date: 10 Oct 2006

Tuesday 10th October 2006, Barbican Centre, London EC2
New curriculum entitlements form one of the cornerstones of the Education and Inspections Bill (published February 2006) which has the aim of improving outcomes for every child. From 2013 all pupils must have access to any of the 14 new specialised diplomas and greater emphasis is being placed on vocational learning at all levels.
Local collaboration will be crucial to delivery: schools will need to work with FE colleges and other providers in order to deliver the diplomas to 14-16 year olds and local authorities will oversee collaboration to ensure access. Ensuring access to work related learning will require providers to build strong relationships with employers.
This conference explores how a stronger vocational offer is being implemented throughout the 14-19 phase of education - looking at the challenges the opportunities that lie ahead.
