What can an Apprenticeship offer me?
[shortcut to: Employers Information]
The polymer industry is short of skilled people to fill its job vacancies. It needs talented individuals to join the industry who can fill these roles in the future, especially through apprenticeships and other formal training schemes. There are plenty of varied careers and good salaries available to the right people with the right skills and experience.
The industry is looking for people with good communication skills, who are eager to learn and good at problem solving. It is a fast moving industry and ability to change as the industry changes is essential.
As an Apprentice you will be employed from the very start of your training and receive a wage from your employer. You will then be given the chance to develop expertise and knowledge through on-the-job assessment as well as gaining vital skills such as team work and problem solving.
The majority of Apprentices also attend colleges or training centres to study the underpinning knowledge necessary for your occupation. To make sure the combination of theory and practice is right for you a Training Agreement will be drawn up that is unique to you. With the right combination of theory and practice your career will be on track and you will gain a nationally recognised qualification - up to a N/SVQ at Level 3.
