Cogent to launch far-reaching skills forecast including Nuclear New Build
In response to the emerging nuclear new build scenarios and the need for a complete picture of the whole industry and its supply chain, Cogent currently has a major cross-sector labour market research project in hand to forecast skills demand to detailed skill levels and job contexts for the whole industry.

This research covers decommissioning, defence, new civil build and current operations up to 2025 and builds on the previous skills gap analysis but adds an improved level of detail and sensitivity to change of model.

The new build scenario work, initiated jointly by Cogent and National Skills Academy for Nuclear will form an important report to Department of Energy and Cimate Change and the Office for Nuclear Development.  The full series of research reports will be published during 2009 according to the plan below.
