Scotland’s skills stakeholders come together in Falkirk
Falkirk East MSP Cathy Peattie, joined Cogent and Skills Academy representatives at an event aimed at explaining Cogent’s “Big Ticket” projects and the forthcoming academies.

The event for stakeholders and employers took place at the Falkirk Wheel visitor centre - The Falkirk Wheel is the spectacular centrepiece of the £84.5 million ‘Millennium Link', the UK’s largest canal restoration project. Delegates were offered the opportunity to take a trip on the wheel.

Cathy Peattie has a strong commitment to education and training, and she spoke about the importance of skills to the local and national economy and recognising the need to upskill the workforce.

Falkirk East comprises urban and rural areas, including the major petrochemical cluster centred on Ineos (formerly BP), Avecia, Astra Zeneca, Rohm & Haas, GE Plastics and EniChem.
