Customers in the Polymer Industry may be aware of current developments with SASL the awarding body.
SASL and parent body Cogent have been seeking to expand the range of products and to enhance the service we are able to provide to polymer businesses.
We are therefore pleased to confirm that we are in advanced negotiations to sell SASL’s awarding rights to the process industry awarding body PAA\VQ-SET.
As a larger
awarding body with 20 years experience PAA\VQ-SET
will be able to offer a much greater range of qualifications to SASL’s existing
customer base. The proposed transfer
of the awarding rights is fully supported by the Cogent board including senior
polymer industrialists.
Michael
Cross, former Chair of Polymer Awarding Body/SASL, and Cogent Board member,
said: “We see this as a positive and beneficial move that will supplement the
work of the new National
Skills Academy
Process Industries. We firmly believe we have now developed the best
partnership and platform to support the upskilling drive across the process
industries.
“We recognised the need to develop the
strength and depth of SASL in order to develop the qualifications for the
future of the polymer industry. This new development takes the best of SASL and
the capacity and capability of PAA\VQ-SET to create an excellent partner for
the industry.”
SASL and Cogent
have held internal consultations with staff that will be affected by the
transfer of awarding rights and assets to PAA\VQ-SET.
At present, we will
continue to support our customers from the Telford
office and we will keep you informed of developments. PAA\VQ-SET is committed
to provide an ongoing high level of service to candidates and customers.
