NSAPI New Board Member Sought
22 May 2009

We are looking for Senior Industrialists to join our Board. Our Board Members provide strategic direction and contribute enormously to our efforts to help employers steer a steady course through the skills agenda, particularly in the current economic climate.

We are looking to attract committed, dynamic individuals from a broad representation of process industries, in particular those with experience in the Bio-technology fields. A diverse, inclusive and experienced Board will allow us to tap in to a wide range of talent and viewpoints, and better serve our membership base. It will also help us to grow our partnerships with training providers who can develop new solutions for employers.

Why become a Board Member?

Employer involvement lies at the heart of the future survival and prosperity of our industry, and you will play a leading role in influencing the skills and training agenda nationwide.  We ask for a commitment of between one and three years, taking in four Board meetings per year. We also have three sub-committees - Audit, Nominations and Remuneration - and Board Members with experience in those areas would be particularly welcome. Our sub committees are held twice a year and usually immediately prior to a main Board meeting, or via teleconferencing.

Our Board is not just another talking shop

It is made up of industrialists who know and understand the skills issues the industries face, and who can apply their extensive knowledge to address those issues.  Board Members are also our roving ambassadors, sharing the vision and spreading the message about our work as they go about their daily business activities.

How to apply

If you feel you fit the bill and would like to contribute to the future success of the process industries, please forward a copy of your current CV along with a covering letter stating why you wish to join the Academy Board to Mr Chris Horton, Chairman, C/O Bev Robinson, National Skills Academy Process Industries Limited, 5 Pioneer Court, Morton Palms Business Park, Darlington, DL1 4WD; or e-mail: [email protected].
