Employer Consultation Survey.
In order to complete stages 1, 2 and 3 of the Sector Skills Agreement process detailed information is needed from employers on the issues that matter to and affect their business. We are making use of a variety of sources, including previous employer surveys, in order to develop the largest and most robust collection of Labour Market Intelligence for the Cogent industries. Employers represent the most authoritative source on these issues and their views can be captured using the questionnaire.

Q - “I have been surveyed so many times about skills and training issues. Why should I complete this survey? How is this different?”
A - This survey is designed to question in greater detail skills, qualification and training requirements. Skills questions are related to your core employees and specific technical and generic skills requirements. Qualification and training provision questions ask you which qualifications your current and potential workforce require, whether delivery mechanisms, location, cost and content meet employer needs and are fit for purpose.
Q - “These surveys findings are usually published, talked about and then forgotten. How will the outcomes from this survey be used?”
A - The greater level of detail that will be derived from this Consultation process will enable Cogent to more clearly articulate what our employers actual needs are in specific terms at a sub industry and regional level. In articulating this Cogent will be empowered by employers to act as their broker with Training Provider and those who fund and develop training provision to ensure their efforts are targeted effectively.
Instructions for completion:
The Consultation Survey should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete - the majority of questions can be completed using check boxes and drop down lists. As the survey is based on a Word Document it is straight forward to use and it also means that you do not need to complete it all in one sitting.
1. Open the attached Consultation Survey and save onto your own computer.
2. Complete the questions as relevant for operations at your site (and those remote workers who take direction from your site)
