Cogent has begun a comprehensive review and prioritisation of qualifications and learning provision across the six industries and the four nations of the UK. The work follows on directly from the important conclusions reached in the Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) process. It will provide the information necessary to develop a far reaching Sector Qualifications Strategy capable of realigning provision to meet employer need.
Sector qualifications strategies are a key mechanism
for the delivery of the Leitch vision of employer driven skills supply.
Cogent will be consulting extensively with employers and stakeholders to define
a shared vision of qualifications and learning provision based on the detailed
picture of skills needs established through the SSA.
The outcomes of the work will be a strategic level
document which provides a rationale for future qualification change and
development. This will be supported by a detailed action plan,
identifying the specific activities, timescales and responsibilities necessary
to achieve the vision of the future.
To achieve this we need your views - which
qualifications do you value, which ones could be improved, which are not fit
for purpose, and are there any new qualifications needed? We have
developed a group of industry specific questionnaires to gather your feedback.
Please click here to find the questionnaire for your industry. This
is an important piece of work and it is essential we understand what
qualifications you require to ensure the future skills of your workforce. For further information, please contact Dawn Hillier.
