Cogent are embarking on a trial to lead our sectors towards an agreed standard in CAD training and asking employers and training providers for guidance.
Over the last six months, Cogent has been researching the potential skills gap between employers' CAD needs and the capability of employees. This research has fed into a project that will develop a training module for CAD training that will ensure employees across the sector are working to the same standard. The module will also enable employees to dip into refresher training and to hone skills in specific disciplines. Cogent's Mark Duffy, the project leader said " We are looking for employers who use any form of CAD software who would be willing to help develop this training standard, and we are also looking for training providers willing to deliver training during a trial period."
