Chris has considerable experience in manufacturing and operations management, featuring a variety of roles and mainly Northwest based locations. He joins Chemicals Northwest from Cleanaway Ltd, where he managed the Chemical High Temperature Incineration plant at Ellesmere Port. During this time he managed and grew the business, guiding it through several major SHE and waste regulation changes.

 Chris is looking forward to the challenges of his new role and commented, “I am delighted to be appointed to this new position, which will give me a deeper understanding of the industry in the region. I am particularly keen to work on the sustainable development aspects, naturally also interfacing closely with the new Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network. There is a range of critical issues for the chemical sector which require our focused attention currently, and it will make prioritisation of our activities absolutely key.”

 Outside work, Chris played hockey for Wales in the last two Commonwealth Games and is the principality’s most capped goalkeeper.

 Carol Boyer-Spooner, former Chief Executive, will remain as Executive Chair of Chemicals Northwest, and will support innovation activities through her new role as interim CEO for the Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network.
