Nuclear Laboratory Technician Quality Control - Role level 2
Qualified to NVQ Level 2, the role of Quality Control Laboratory Technician understands basic chemical, materials and analytical science and the use of laboratory information management systems. They are able to prepare and perform routine laboratory testing and analyse and interpret the results. Additionally they can contribute to continuous improvement of workplace organisation techniques to improve workflow of the laboratory.

Nuclear Laboratory Technician Analytical - Role level 3
The Analytical Laboratory Technician will be qualified to NVQ Level 3. In addition to those tasks carried out by the Role Level 2 Laboratory Technician Quality Control, the Laboratory Technician Analytical will prepare and perform non-routine and complex sampling, testing and analysis procedures.

Nuclear Laboratory Technician R&D - Role level 4
Qualified to HND or Foundation Degree level, the Laboratory Technician R&D is capable of carrying out the Role Level 3 Laboratory Technician tasks and, additionally, can prepare and perform laboratory experiments and analyse results to support Research and Development projects
