Competence Assurance Framework, based on six “Key Principles” underpins our
brand new web-based competence self-assessment tool and complementary toolkit.
It is a tailor-made online mechanism
designed to meet the needs of companies in the process and manufacturing
industries including petroleum refining, nuclear, chemicals, biotechnology,
speciality chemicals, pharmaceuticals and polymers. It has been rigorously
piloted with a range of businesses from across the Cogent sector and is
underpinned by world-class standards.
It represents a total systems-check
and offers the opportunity to reveal what you don’t know about your own
procedures and systems, leaving no stone unturned. Uniquely, it provides a
confidential self-examination of organisation-wide competence without any
third-party involvement, allowing you, rather
than the regulator, to identify areas of weakness.
The companies who have piloted this
tool were a mix of top or lower tier COMAH and non COMAH sites. They have been able
to critically examine their systems, which often operate in a highly-devolved
environment and put in place actions which ensure competence management
enshrines all business processes.
