The 2011 Search for the Nuclear Stars of the Future
09 Aug 2011

The National Skills Academy for Nuclear has launched its 2011 search to find the nuclear industry stars of the future.

Nominations are invited for the categories of Apprentice of the Year, Supply Chain Apprentice of the Year (for organisations with less than 500 employees), Foundation Degree/HND Student of the Year and Graduate of the Year.

The selected finalists for all the categories will be invited to attend the high profile UK Nuclear Skills Awards Dinner which will be held on the 22nd March 2012 in Manchester.  The Skills Awards Dinner is a collaborative event organised by Cogent Sector Skills Council and the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, which will feature both the Regional and National award presentations.

In all categories the Skills Academy are looking for individuals who have gone beyond everyone’s expectations, or have demonstrated huge improvement throughout their studies.

Jean Llewellyn OBE, Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear

“Every year the quality of candidates nominated for the awards is exceptional. The UK Nuclear Skills Awards is the nuclear industry’s skills event of the year, and really highlights excellence in skills development.

Apprenticeships, Foundation Degrees/HNDs and Graduates are key avenues for replenishing and building skills for the nuclear sector.  It is extremely important to highlight the real and tangible contributions which they make to their organisations on a daily basis.”

Award application forms and further information on the awards are available for download from the National Skills Academy for Nuclear’s website www.nuclear.nsacademy.co.uk.  All forms are to be received by the Skills Academy no later than 5pm on the 28th October 2011.
