A seminar and networking forum to give aspiring entrepreneurs and young healthcare businesses an insight into how to start-up, fund and grow innovative new companies.
1 March 2012
Location: GlaxoSmithKline R&D, Medicines Research Centre, Stevenage
The Young & Emerging Healthcare Business seminar brings together life science entrepreneurs, academics and start-ups to hear first-hand from those who know what it takes to build a successful business.
Together with practical support and guidance, including information on Technology Strategy Board schemes and R&D tax credits, the seminar will focus on the needs and issues of early-stage healthcare businesses, whilst also showcasing the businesses that universities help create.
This event will help young and emerging healthcare businesses to meet the challenges of:
• pitching for finance
• identifying what makes a fundable company
• understanding biotech business and potential pitfalls
There will also be the chance to network with colleagues facing similar challenges, and those who have raised capital and gone on to grow successful businesses. Delegates will also be able to tour the new Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst, which is co-located on the GlaxoSmithKline Stevenage site.
Places are limited. Early registration is recommended to secure your place. PraxisUnico/BIA members: £125. PraxisUnico/BIA non-members: £145.
