Cogent is urging employers to apply for the Government’s Employer Ownership of Skills pilot fund of £50million which is available now. Cogent is inviting genuine ideas and ambitious projects to raise the skills of your employees.
The Government is looking to invest £250,000 in bids involving SMEsand £1 million for those from larger consortia/employers. They are particularly interested in involving employers who do not have a track record of investing in skills.
The fund is able to support:
• Increased employer leadership, commitment and investment in skills above current investment levels.
• Collaboration by employers to address cross-sector or supply chain skills challenges
• Quality and content improvements to training provision so it can be shaped to meet your needs
• Investment that improves work readiness, workforce development and Apprenticeships activity
Key features
• Must be led by named employer/s who will act as the contract holder/s - and the pilot is open to employers of all sizes and sectors
• Beneficiary employees must be based in England
Timescale
• Employers must register their intention to bid by the 13th April 2012 and submit their full applications by 26th April 2012
• Decisions to employers during June/July 2012 with delivery to commence from August 2012 onward
