Cogent are proud to be supporting Chemicals Northwest who are hosting a half-day event to update the chemical sector about all the latest developments in Process Safety. The event will take place on Thursday, 21st January 2010 (8:15 hrs 13:30 hrs) at The Heath, Runcorn.
The event will also lead with Train to Gain developments and coincides with the launch of the brand new Cogent Gold Standard Safety Qualification. The half-day event will include an update from the Academy and its partners, and will feature case studies from industry that will give both employers and providers practical examples of what others are doing in this area to improve safety.
If you want a new perspective/approach to process safety, and an understanding of the important role that human factors can play in helping to reduce workplace accidents, this compact half-day session is for you!
Following a meeting of the Chemical Industry Employers Network in October Ian Travers, Head of Chemical Industries Strategy Unit at the HSE said “As I stressed during the meeting HSE is keen to support the development and delivery of training and coaching for board members and senior managers in process safety and process safety leadership and so would welcome any views and proposals on how this can be taken forward.
“We also place great emphasis on improving the competence and skills of staff at all levels within chemical and processing industries and so I was encouraged to see the developments in the Gold Standard.”
