Sembcorp UK is a major supplier of industrial utilities to large international companies in key manufacturing sectors including chemicals and biofuels. Based at the Wilton International site on Teesside, and part of Sembcorp Industries, a Singapore-based global energy, water and marine group, have invested almost £200 million in recent years building new and improving existing assets and further major investment is planned.
Sembcorp is a pioneer in biomass-based renewable energy in the UK and a recent £64 million investment in ‘wood to energy’ production will soon be matched by a £200 million energy recovery facility helping to address pressing UK energy supply and Climate Change issues. Their other assets include a 200MW coal fired cogeneration power station and gas turbines which collectively provide stimulating daily challenges for their skilled operators, engineers and business managers.
