The Chemical Industry Awards are the premier accolades for the UK chemical industry. They are designed to offer a unique opportunity to highlight and promote excellent performance at the company, site or individual level.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at St George’s Hall, Liverpool on Thursday 24 June 2010. The event provides an ideal opportunity to entertain valued clients, colleagues and guests in this celebration of the best of the UK chemical industry.
Cogent and NSAPI are happy to announce their sponsorship of the Skills Alliance for the Process Industries Award. The purpose of this Award is to recognise the employer who has done the most to contribute to the acquisition of skills by the company’s workforce.
Eligibility
The award is open to any chemical manufacturing company. Following initial judging, applicants will be notified if they have been short-listed by 7 May 2010. The winner will be announced at the Chemical Industry Awards Dinner on 25 June in Edinburgh and a representative from each short-listed company will receive an invitation to attend. Winning applicants should be willing to participate in publicity.
Criteria
Contenders for this Award will be judged against the following criteria:
- Innovative approaches to training and competence development of the workforce - demonstrated by examples
- Recognised excellence in performance management cascaded from the company leadership
- A continuous learning approach to developing employees
- Demonstration of any external accreditations such as Gold standards (check title), Investors in People etc. and support to employees to gain external qualifications to assist their career development
- Proven and sustained attractiveness of the company to potential employees
- Strong ability to retain staff

Entry is open to the whole of the UK chemical Industry and companies that provide services to the chemical industry as appropriate for each particular award Closing date for nominations for all awards has been extended to 6 April 2010. Short listed nominations will be notified by 7 May 2010 and each short
listed company will receive one free invitation to attend the Awards
