Sub-sector Management Groups
In 2001, the Petroleum Industry National Training Organisation - a founder member of Cogent - published a Workforce Development Plan which included the establishment of sub-sector management groups responsible for implementing the Plan.

These groups brought together employer representatives, maining from the training and HR departments, from across the industry. Their priorities were to:

  • Address a potential shortfall in people resources
  • Assure competence
  • Assure the skills of the contractor staff

There are two sub-sector management groups currently active:

  • the Stabilising, Refining & Manufacturing Sub-Sector Management Group (SRBM)
  • the Blending, Storage & Distribution Sub-Sector Management Group (BSD)

For information on the activities of these groups, contact:

for SRBM:     Tim Brant - tel: 07786 916263
for BSD:        Peter Gent - tel: 07876 594393
