The Gold Standard is a competency framework for job roles in the process industries. It sets the skills benchmark for world class performance.
Using this framework employers can be confident employees' skills are being developed to an industry standard, leading to improved productivity and enhanced performance. Each Gold Standard job role describes and maps the competencies required. The framework covers a wide range of roles from Level 2 to professional status, across four areas of competence:

Using the Gold Standard
The National Skills Academy Process Industries has designed its Skills Assurance process to enable organisations to work towards the Gold Standard. This benchmarks a company's skills and identifies training gaps using the Gold Standard framework. Through a unique referral system the Academy will then identify cost-effective, accredited training provision which meets the requirements of the company.
