A. The Gold Standard is a competency framework for job roles in the process industries. It sets the skills benchmark for world class performance.

A. The Gold Standard describes and maps the competencies required to do each job in the process industries in four key areas of competence.

A. Technical Competence, Compliance, Business Improvement, and Functional & Behavioural.

A. The Gold Standard provides employers with a benchmark for world-class performance and provides assurance that a company's investment in skills hits all the right targets.
Q. What does the Gold Standard offer employees?
A. The Gold Standard allows employees to transfer their skills across the Sector and provides a clear career pathway.
Q. How can the Gold Standard be achieved?
A. Demonstrating commitment to the Gold Standard means working with the Skills Academy to have company skills and training benchmarked, so that training gaps are identified through the Gold Standard framework.
The gap can then be closed through either qualifications and training or using the Academy's ASET process to have in-house training benchmarked.
Q. How are employers rewarded for their commitment?
A. Companies who have made a commitment to the Gold Standard are invited to place their logo on Cogent's website "Roll of Honour" to show their commitment to world class skills. They will also receive a certificate. Companies will also be able to use the Gold Standard logo. The mark is a registered trademark and is protected by copyright.
